tony B: the overlook re-mix (2008)

Kieran: Hello Chris and Dave, I do recall the show being set for 3 weeks actually. This was when we were discussing the possibility of whether or not to include drawings and/or paint the wall opposite the Lift exit on Level 6 after a lunchtime meeting. Alot of preparation, time and money was put into the show and it was made abundantly clear that an integral part of the piece is that all are welcome to express their disapproval of the audio content on the installed walls. This includes the Residents of course. I sincerely suggest that this be relayed to them once again. Should they not want to participate, I hardly think that the experience of the show warrants their questioning whether or not they should pay the rent -given the average duration of a lift journey is only a few minutes. The de-installing is not something that can be done at the drop of a hat so I am happy to fit in with Dave and Simon wednesday week.

Chris: It is peculiar then that we only had an opening date on the flyer. Surely, if a closing date was discussed at an appropriate time this would have been included in the flyer. Maybe you guys 'set this in stone' when I wasn't present. Of course, I recall discussions about the 'usual' duration of shows. As in, they 'last' for about 3 weeks. I'm not underestimating the time, effort or money spent. But of course, that time, effort and money doesn't come only from the artist. There have been countless hours spent getting Rise and Fall to even happen. (cont'd) >>
